If you were anywhere near social media the night of the 57th NAACP Image Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, you already know what we are about to talk about. Chlöe and Halle Bailey walked that red carpet in two completely different looks and managed to make the whole thing feel like it was planned down to the last detail, even though nothing about their outfits matched.
Chloe arrived in a black floor-length gown and from the moment she stepped out, it was clear this was not going to be a simple red carpet moment. The base was sheer mesh, layered with large velvet floral appliqués — leaves and blooms that ran from the bodice all the way down to the hem, the sheer panels at the waist and thighs adding a boldness that never once tipped over into too much. Then there were the off-shoulder sculptural wings at the neckline, sharp and angular, pushing the whole look into territory that a regular red carpet gown simply does not occupy.
Stylist Jason Rembert had a clear vision here and did not waver from it. The jewellery was a delicate silver choker and a gold bracelet, kept intentionally simple because the gown was already carrying the full weight of the look. Hair by The Art of Hair by Fesa Nu and makeup by Arianna Garcia brought everything home — dark, lush, and so completely Chloe that it is hard to imagine the look on anyone else.

Halle walked in wearing a Stéphane Rolland gown in deep chocolate-brown, and the room had no choice but to pay attention. The dress was sleek and form-fitting all the way through, but it was the oversized sculpted collar — rising up around her face and shoulders like a wide, sweeping halo — that made it something else entirely. And if that was not enough, large irregular white abstract shapes ran down the front of the gown from the waist to the floor, turning the whole silhouette into something that felt closer to art than clothing.
Stylist Bryon Javar was behind the look, and every single detail earned its place. The Le Vian Jewelry silver hoop earrings had an organic, irregular shape that quietly echoed the white abstract detailing on the dress, tying the whole look together without drawing attention to itself. Makeup by Christiana Cassell kept the face clean and precise, making sure nothing pulled focus from the gown’s architecture.

Now we want to know — if you had a sister, would you both show up to an event like this and completely do your own thing, trusting that it would all come together in the end? Or are you the type to coordinate down to the last detail? Because after seeing Chloe and Halle, we are fully convinced that the separate-but-equally-stunning approach might just be the move.
